The Triumph Tiger 800 XCx is a middleweight adventure motorcycle targeted at off-roading enthusiasts. Though it is based on the same rugged tubular steel trellis frame used in other Tiger 800 models, it comes with a host of features to improve the bikes ability to transverse harsh terrains. The Tiger 800 XCx is powered by the same 800cc three-pot engine, which now comes with ride-by-wire throttle. Triumph has tweaked the engine to improve its efficiency and emission figures.
The engine delivers 94bhp and 79Nm of torque through a six-speed transmission and gets four throttle maps to adjust the level of throttle response and electronic aids according to the riders preference. The motorcycle can also be adjusted in three modes according to the terrain. The Tiger 800 XCx comes with switchable ABS, cruise control, an advanced trip computer and traction control as standard.
It also gets some essential features like a main stand, an adjustable windscreen, a 12 V power socket, hand guards and an aluminium sump guard to protect the engine. The Tiger 800 XCx is available in three paint schemes – crystal white, caspian blue and phantom black. It competes with the only other middleweight adventure motorcycle, the BMW F650 GS.
