UM Renegade Sports S (Carburetor) Discontinued

The Renegade Sports S is a pure cruiser, introduced by UM Motorcycles to mark its entry into the Indian market in 2016.  The Renegade Sports S is unmistakably built to be a cruiser and a head turner as well. The highlighted side panels and plastic bits for the rear and the long headlamp cowl appeal to the younger generation. The Sports S gets three colours to choose from red/black, orange/black and silver/black – all available in a very eye-catching glossy finish.

The Renegade Sports S comes with a slightly taller and wider handle bar for better maneuverability when not cruising along the highway. Renegade Sports S sits low and the foot pegs are set forward.  The seat itself is wide enough to cushion the rider, thus making for comfortable riding positions. Now the pillion seat is small, but it gets a detachable back rest.Powering the Renegade is a 279.5 cc engine mated to a 6 speed synchromesh gearbox which churns out 25bhp at 8500rpm and 23Nm of torque at 7000rpm.

This fuel injected motor is liquid cooled, thus keeping the efficiency of the engine in check. UM has gone old school with the 280 mm disc brake, 2 piston calipers for the front and a 130 mm drum at the back.Renegade Sports S offers features like a USB charging point, digital speedometer and storage below the rear seat, which is the first in its class, thus adding to its appeal.In terms of styling, the Renegade Sports S is rivalled by the Bajaj Avenger with 2 variants, Street and Cruise.

Its biggest competitor in that segment, of course, is the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500 which comes with higher displacement and brand loyalty. The Sport S is priced at Rs 1,71,654(ex-showroom, Delhi)
