Hero MotoCorp has introduced a fresh version of its Vida V1 electric scooter. The latest model, known as Hero Vida V1 Plus, has been launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.15 lakh. This price already includes the FAME II subsidy as well as a portable charger.

Moreover, customers can avail themselves of further price reductions through state government subsidies. For example, in New Delhi, the scooter will be available for just Rs 97,800. In comparison to its premium counterpart, the Vida V1 Pro, the V1 Plus is priced Rs 30,000 lower.

With these attractive features, the Vida V1 Plus presents a compelling option for those seeking alternatives to Ather 450S, Ola S1 Air and S1 X+, as well as TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and Simple Dot One.

2024 Hero Vida V1 Plus Launched At Rs. 1.15 Lakh

The Indian 2W electric industry has been experiencing significant growth due to the increasing number of consumers opting for eco-friendly mobility solutions. Despite facing numerous challenges, the leading 2W manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, successfully launched their EV under a separate Vida sub-brand.

Following its launch, the product received harsh criticism for its pricing exceeding initial expectations. However, Hero MotoCorp adjusted its pricing strategy last year and introduced the Vida V1 Pro at a competitive price of Rs. 1.4 lakh (inclusive of central subsidy). Additionally, several state governments provide supplementary subsidies, further reducing the effective cost.

The Vida V1 Plus model was discontinued, leaving the V1 Pro as the flagship offering under the Vida brand. Looking ahead to 2024, Hero MotoCorp has reintroduced the Vida V1 Plus at an effective price of Rs. 1.15 lakh (including FAME II central subsidy and a portable charger).

In addition to Delhi, several other States and UTs offer subsidies at the state level to encourage the faster adoption of electric mobility and ease the financial burden on buyers.

Differences between V1 Plus and V1 Pro

1. There are minimal differences between the Hero Vida V1 Plus release and the top-of-the-line Vida V1 Pro. Both exhibit comparable design elements, seating comfort, and other components. Additionally, V1 Plus and V1 Pro share the same technology and boast a 7-inch touchscreen dashboard. The maximum speed of both scooters is 80 km/h.

2. The variations are found in a few aspects that justify the higher price tag of the top-spec Vida V1 Pro compared to the Vida V1 Plus. Firstly, the V1 Pro is equipped with a larger 3.94 kWh battery pack that offers a range of 110 km on a single charge. On the other hand, the V1 Plus comes with a smaller 3.44 kWh battery providing a range of 100 km. Despite both having the same 6 kW electric motor, the V1 Pro accelerates 0.2 seconds faster.
