Vinfast, the Vietnamese automaker, has a strong lineup of electric cars in its portfolio. In addition to this, Vinfast has been actively involved in the bidding process for Ford’s Chennai plant following the American company’s departure from the Indian market.

Moreover, Vinfast has a diverse range of electric scooters available in its domestic market. This could potentially become one of its defining features in the Indian market as well.

Vinfast Klara S Electric Scooter

Vinfast’s first electric scooter launch in India might be the Klara S, which has recently obtained a patent in the country. The Klara S is a stylish electric scooter with a classic design that exudes a Vespa-like charm.

Vinfast proudly promotes the Klara S as the epitome of Italian design. With its attractive appearance, it could potentially pose as a strong competitor to the Bajaj Chetak and Ola S1 range, given their similar design aesthetics.

The Klara S showcases a hexagonal-shaped LED headlight, a U-shaped LED tail light, LED turn indicators, and premium-looking pillion foot-pegs. Additionally, it offers the option for contrasting colors on the floorboard and seats.

Notably, the scooter features a fully digital instrument cluster and telematics capabilities enabled by a built-in e-sim. These noteworthy attributes enhance the overall appeal and functionality of the Klara S.

Specs, features and performance

To begin with, the dimensions of Vinfast Klara S are as follows: it has a length of 1,890 mm, a width of 684 mm, and a height of 1,125 mm. Additionally, it features a wheelbase measuring 1,321 mm and a seat height of 760 mm. Klara S is also equipped with two removable batteries and has a kerb weight of 108 kg.

Vinfast Klara S Dual Battery

Vinfast has adopted the use of removable battery technology, incorporating two removable battery packs, each with a capacity of 22 ah. These battery packs are equipped with Li-ion cells obtained from LG Chem.

They supply power to a 1.2 kW (1.6 bhp) electric hub motor sourced from Bosch, which propels the rear wheels. The estimated range of this system is 120 km when traveling at a speed of 30 km/h, with a maximum speed of 48 km/h.

Vinfast Klara S Features

The Vinfast Klara S has a load bearing capacity of 150 kg. This e-scooter comes with front and rear disc brakes that are equipped with Nissin calipers, a 14-inch front wheel paired with a 90/90-14 tire, and a 120/70-12 rear tire fitted on a 12-inch rear wheel.

The starting price for this vehicle is VND 39.9 million (approximately Rs. 1.34 lakh) excluding batteries and a 400W charger. Batteries can be obtained as a service for VND 350,000 per month (approximately Rs. 1,178).
