Ather Energy hits key milestone, rolls out 1 lakh electric scooters since debut
Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer, Ather Energy, has rolled out its 1,00,000th electric scooter in India. Announcing the new production milestone on social media, the company Co-Founder and CEO, Tarun Mehta said – “Aaaand now we are at 100k! Celebrating roll out of the 100,000th scooter at our factory recently.”
A new year. A new beginning. And with it begins a new phase in Ather’s journey. Production timeline to a lakh units is as follows. It took Ather Energy 35 months to complete production of its first 10K units. The next 5 months helped it get to the 20k production mark. And another 5 months to get to the 30k unit mark.

Ather Sales Jan 2023
Ather has now released its sales numbers for January and the figures are promising once again. Ather’s sales grew by 330 per cent year-over-year compared to the same period in 2022. Ather sold 12,149 scooters in January 2023, which is the best-ever sales for the company to date. Ather sold 9,324 more units in January 2023 that the 2,825 units it sold in the first month of 2022.

Ather Energy – Growth impact and future production
Ather Energy produces its electric scooters at the company’s manufacturing plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, which has the capacity to produce more than 1,00,000 units a year. Currently, Ather offers two models in India, the 450 Plus and the top-of-the-line 450X, which are priced at Rs. 1.19 lakh and Rs. 1.42 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) respectively.
Ather is planning to increase its sales network and improve its product portfolio, including exports in the next 2-3 years. On ground growth will include 350 experience centres across 250 cities and towns by the end of next financial year. Ather Grid charging infrastructure will be expanded up to 1,400 locations.
