Ather Energy is currently venturing into different scooter genres as part of its efforts to diversify its portfolio. Having already catered to thrill seekers with their sporty and enthusiastic 450 range of electric scooters, the company is now entering the family scooter genre with the introduction of Ather Rizta. A video showcasing a recent water wading test of the upcoming Rizta has been shared on social media, providing viewers with new information about this scooter.

Ather Rizta Water Wading Test Video

The electric mobility solutions provider from Bengaluru recognizes the importance of catering to various target demographics with different types of vehicles. Ather Rizta joins the conversation, offering practicality suitable for a traditional family scooter.

In a recent social media video shared by Ather Energy Co-Founder, Swapnil Jain, the scooter successfully navigates through a 400mm deep water trench without any issues. This test showcases the IP67 rating of the vehicle’s electrical components such as the battery and motor.

We witnessed Ather Rizta undergoing a water wading test to showcase the waterproof ratings of its components. In a previous demonstration, Ather Energy showcased the durability of the battery by dropping it from a height of 40 feet. The recent video also provides interesting insights into the upcoming family scooter from Ather Energy.

Many may mistake Rizta for TVS iQube due to the numerous uncanny similarities between the two. This is intriguing as TVS iQube is the main competitor for Ather Rizta. Notable similarities include the sleek horizontal LED headlight shape and positioning, as well as the LED DRL positioning.

While the tail light shape appears similar, there are slight differences in the positioning between the two scooters. The rear grab rail on Rizta is sleeker compared to iQube. According to Ather, Rizta’s key strengths will include a flat floorboard, the largest seat in its segment, ample under-seat storage, and other notable features.

Rizta to get a TFT touchscreen?

The latest water wading video showcases a spacious fully digital instrument cluster. Ather has intentionally obscured the display of this electric scooter in their video. Nevertheless, there is a chance that it could be the identical 7-inch TFT color touchscreen found on the Ather 450X model, rather than the LCD unit on the 450S as previously rumored.

In terms of features, the Ather Rizta will offer Bluetooth connectivity, navigation or Google Maps (depending on the screen), music control, and other essential vehicle information. The unveiling of the Ather Rizta will take place at the company’s Community Day event on April 6th, 2024. It is possible that the powertrains will be shared with the Ather 450S, and the company intends to maintain competitive pricing.
