The Kawasaki KLX 230 S dual sport motorcycle is anticipated to be available for purchase in India shortly. The manufacturer has been actively conducting tests on local roads, and the test models suggest a significant degree of localization. This localization is expected to enable Kawasaki India to set a competitive price for the KLX 230 S.

The motorcycle was introduced in international markets in early 2024, featuring several enhancements. Among these updates is a new subframe designed to facilitate longer wheel travel and accommodate a redesigned seat. Although the seat height is a manageable 830mm, the motorcycle also boasts improved ground clearance. It is equipped with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels fitted with dual-purpose tyres. Braking is managed by disc brakes at both the front and rear.

The powertrain of the Kawasaki KLX 230 S consists of a 233cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which is projected to deliver 19bhp and 20.3Nm of torque.

The motorcycle’s design is notably functional, featuring minimal body panels. It includes a compact headlight encased in a cowl, a high-mounted mudguard, a small fuel tank, and a short tail section. Kawasaki is expected to offer the motorcycle in two color options: Kawasaki Green and Grey.

The 2024 Kawasaki KLX 230 S is likely to be priced similarly to the Hero Xpulse 200 4V, estimated at around Rs 2 lakh.
