The most notable enhancement is the introduction of a larger 1099cc inline-four engine, which supersedes the previous 1043cc model. This upgraded engine produces a peak power of 137.8PS, which is slightly less than the 142PS offered by the Ninja 1000SX; however, it makes up for this with an increase in torque to 113Nm, a rise of 2Nm. The power and torque are available at lower RPMs, providing a smoother and more relaxed riding experience during extended journeys. Additionally, Kawasaki has refined the gearing in the 5th and 6th gears to improve comfort during highway cruising, making it particularly suitable for touring enthusiasts.
