Kawasaki Reveals Official 2024 Isle of Man TT Plans

In 2024, Kawasaki UK’s official presence at the Isle of Man TT will undergo some changes, with David Johnson joining Lee Hardy Racing. Johnson, an experienced road racer, made his debut at the Isle of Man TT in 2010.

This year, he will be racing for the Lee Hardy Racing team in the North West 200, Macau Grand Prix, and on the Isle of Man. He will compete in the Superbike and Superstock classes using Kawasaki ZX-10RR machinery.

Lee Hardy Racing’s road racing program for 2024 is a shift from their previous BSB commitments, at least for this year. The team has gained recognition in the short circuits for nurturing young talents and promoting them to the Superbike class.

Notably, they have played a significant role in the career of Jake Dixon, who currently competes in the Moto2 World Championship. Dixon finished as the runner-up to Leon Haslam in the 2018 British Superbike Championship.

The team has gained valuable experience in road racing since its debut in 2013. Since 2017, they have been using Kawasaki machinery, which has made them familiar with the equipment they will be using this year.

However, they now have an official role in racing on the roads. Kawasaki needed a new team to represent them officially after Dean Harrison joined Honda Racing UK and DAO Racing focused solely on BSB. David Johnson expressed his satisfaction with joining Lee Hardy Racing and riding for Kawasaki.

He has a good relationship with Lee and knows that the team provides well-prepared and competitive bikes. He has been putting in a lot of effort in Australia and is highly motivated to perform at his best in May.

Furthermore, Lee Hardy is proud to have the support of Kawasaki and considers it a remarkable opportunity for LHR to officially represent the brand.

He is eager to embark on new projects and can’t wait to get started. Ross Burridge, the Head of Marketing & Racing Department at Kawasaki UK, acknowledges the thrilling nature of the Road Racing season.

He is thrilled to have such a strong combination of rider and team for 2024, confident that they will put on an impressive show for the passionate fans lining the roads. With a rigorous training and testing schedule planned for Davo and the team in the coming months, Burridge is certain that they will be fully prepared to compete when the flag drops at the NW200 in May.
