Ampere is preparing to introduce a brand new electric scooter that is currently traveling from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.

GEMPL (Greaves Electric Mobility Pvt Ltd), a prominent electric 2W mobility provider in India, has recently unveiled two new awards related to its upcoming scooter. Dubbed as “The Next Big Thing”, this highly anticipated Ampere scooter has been honored with two accolades in the renowned India Book Of Records prior to its official release.

Ampere Scooter Scores Two Accolades In India Book Of Record

GEMPL, the electric mobility provider in India, operates as the e-mobility business division of Greaves Cotton Ltd. Within the Indian market, the company specializes in selling Ampere branded scooters, consistently securing a position in the top five best-selling electric scooters list.

In January 2024, the sales of Ampere branded scooters reached an impressive figure of over 2.3K units, securing the 5th highest-selling position among e-2W vehicles.

The highly anticipated electric scooter from the company, known as “The Nex Big Thing,” embarked on an exhilarating journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The flag-off event for this remarkable expedition took place in January. Over the course of 45 days, the Ampere scooter will traverse India’s diverse topography, navigating through various terrains and major cities.

Scheduled for launch by the end of 2024, Ampere’s The Nex Big Thing has already achieved two prestigious accolades in the India Book Of Record. These records serve as a testament to the company’s unwavering commitment to preparedness, innovation, pushing boundaries, and redefining possibilities.

Among the notable achievements of Ampere’s upcoming electric scooter are the creation of the largest Electric Scooter Brand Logo on White Sands and the distinction of being the First Electric Scooter to Tow a Pickup Truck. Bookings for the special K2K (Kashmir to Kanyakumari) Edition of Ampere’s The Nex Big Thing have already begun, with a nominal fee of Rs. 499.

Biggest Electric Scooter Brand Logo Drawn on White Sands

Ampere achieved a remarkable milestone at Dholavira, Khadir bet island in Kutch Desert Wildlife Sanctuary, Great Rann of Kutch by creating a new record. The record involved tracing the Ampere brand logo (resembling a navigation logo) in the white sands.

What made this achievement stand out was that the logo, created by the rider on Ampere The Nex Big Thing electric scooter, covered an area of 17,100 sq ft, equivalent to 179.8 ft X 95.2 ft, with a perimeter of an impressive 394 ft.

The combination of precision, creativity, perseverance, and innovation led to this recognition in the India Book Of Records, officially confirming the record on Feb 2nd, 2024.

First Electric Scooter to Tow a Pickup Truck

A remarkable sight to witness is an electric scooter towing a pickup truck, which is quite uncommon compared to seeing a pickup truck towing a larger vehicle. Ampere The Nex Best Thing, showcasing its strength and capability, successfully towed a fully loaded pickup truck weighing 1,860 kg, along with an additional load of 140 kg (equivalent to 2 on-board passengers).

Covering a total distance of 2 km during a 15-minute run, this impressive feat took place in the Rann Of Kutch and was officially recognized by India Book Of Record on February 3rd, 2024.
